The 56-year-old “Office” star is now going Rainnfall Heat Wave Extreme Winter Wilson, at least through his social media platforms.
the actor announced the new moniker via Twitter and Instagram on Wednesday in an effort to highlight the rapid melting of the Arctic (which he referred to as shrinking at millions of liters per second) and its catastrophic global effects.
The changing Arctic weather, he insisted in a selfie-style video, “is not only bad news for the Arctic, but for us as well.”
As a cheap little trick to help save the planet, I changed my name on Twitter [and] Instagram, he explained, stating that his goal is to “help tell world leaders and influencers that we must act now.”
Wilson, an environmental advocate and Arctic Basecamp board member, said he reached out to “a lot of people in show business” to encourage them to do the same.
“It’s fun. It’s free,” he explained, asking his followers to go to ArcticRisk.org and follow in his footsteps.
Wilson’s announcement is timed for the 27th annual United Nations Climate Change Conference, known as COP27, which will be held in Egypt until November 18.
Although neither his Instagram nor his Twitter account reflects his updated nickname, Wilson Chirp is most likely a joke. The new CEO of Twitter, Elon Musk He is responsible for the latter.
